Review: Etude House Bubble Hair Coloring in Sweet Orange +plus+ a brief history of whatshername

at 4:29 AM 6 comments
As I have said in my first ever blog post, I am a late bloomer. In all beauty-related aspects, I think, and this includes dyeing my hair.

I’ve wanted to dye my hair so bad, even way back, even during high school, but since my school didn’t allow it, I never dared to do so. (I did have it temporarily dyed reddish brown during Christmas break though – washed it after three days and the color vanished... didn’t expect it to be THAT temporary L)

Here’s how it looked (Luckily, I was able to save this picture)

Gahd, I look so slim here. But now...
When I reached college, the desire was still there but being more conscious and aware of what my hair was like (thick, frizzy, and difficult to maintain), I still didn’t pursue. And to add to that, I didn’t know what exact shade I wanted! I wanted a low maintenance and not-so-outrageous color, but different and noticeable too. (I’m so contradictory, I confuse myself sometimes) Of course, the color had to suit my skintone as well.

Come my 4th year in college, (this was during summer and OJT days) my cousin dyed her hair Mahogany and it looked really good on her. I obsessed about it for around 2 weeks and decided to follow suit. So for almost a year (dyed my hair once every six months), this was my shade.

Since I started reading beauty blogs during the last quarter of the year, I’ve constantly landed on beautyblogs which featured Etude House’s Bubble Hair Color. I found it intriguing because it was a shampoo-type dye, which was a first for me. But since I was content with my shade, I shrugged off any inkling to try it out.

Come December, I noticed that my natural shade (darkEST brown) was showing already. Seems my hair regrowth is getting faster. That was the time when I’ve been frequenting EH stores, and before I knew it, I made up my mind to try the famous hair colorant.

The great debate happening all inside my mind was the shade – Wine Red or Sweet Orange? Lucky me, Wine Red was out of stock. And we all know what happened next. See related post here.

(WOW ANG HABA NA NG INTRO KO. The babbler in me has been unleashed yet again! Mwahahaha! --- and the brief history of whatshername has been told. ^_^)

NOTD: My Christmas Nails! :3

at 1:05 PM 0 comments
Merry Christmas again Lovelies! I hope you all had a greeeaaaat one!

Christmas may be over but the holidays are here to stay! (Until January 1, at least :P) And so this Christmas nails post is still valid. ^_^

I am not an expert in doing my nails. I don't even have nail art tools! But I'm proud of this (didn't even think I could do it). So, with its normal nail polish brush (and toothpick), allow me to present My Christmas Nails!

Left

Right
Eto lang talaga yun eh. haha!

Fail! haha

There you have it lovelies, my humble Christmas nails. What do you think? Please be kind, kay? Hee-hee.

Etude House Haul - plus something really cheap

at 3:22 AM 4 comments
Hello Lovelies! I know I’ve been MIA and I’m truly sorry for that. Everything’s just so hectic, I’m still trying to catch up. As of now, I have to step up my game in almost all subjects in my review. Since Christmas vacation started, I’ve only been able to read on one subject and solve about 20 problems. That’s so lame! Gaaaaaaaaa. Anyway, I won’t prolong the babbling and ranting.

I absolutely adore Etude House and their overly-pink store! Don’t get me wrong now... I am not a girly girl. I just love how a girl can get all princess-y and cute-sy just by entering the store. Plus, I’ve always been treated nicely by the SAs. Sometimes though, it gets a bit awkward when I don’t plan on buying anything and just want to look around. Teehee ^_^;

So this is what I got the last time I went there. (SM Southmall branch, btw)

Review: Daiso Natural Nose Pack

at 1:41 AM 1 comments
Hello lovelies!! It's been a while. A really long while! This is the second weekend since my review started, and I meant to write this post last weekend, but due to short-term memory loss (READ: stupid me), I wasn't able to. But never mind that, because here I am! Did you guys miss me? No? Missed me or not, let's head on to the main topic. ^_^

Ever since I read about Saizen in blogs, I really wanted to visit a branch, but all branches were too far from where I live and I could only go there if someone would take me. Fortunately for me, meh familia went to Market! Market! three saturdays ago, I think. And of course I insisted on visiting Saizen. I was fascinated by the makeup aisle, and was surprised that a lot of ladies were squishing their way through. I guess the items are great finds @ 85php each huh. I ended up buying three items: Natural Nose Pack, Makeup sponges, and cute strawberry hair accessories. Actually, I imagined myself hauling a lot, but due to time constraints, I wasn't able to fully explore the store.

This review is about Daiso Natural Nose Pack. Okay, I'll be honest. I thought this product is part of the Charcoal line which everyone's been raving about. I really wanted to try those but I'm finishing off products of the similar kind so I just got the nose pack. (thinking it was part of the charcoal line) But no, it isn't.

Drawing closer and closer

at 1:50 AM 0 comments
So y'all know that I'm starting my review real soon right? Guess what... it starts next week! T_T So my posts will definitely be less frequent but I still hope to be able to keep this blog alive. I'm still going to hop around and read your blogs though :)

Last November 16, a few of my friends who I haven't seen in the longest time and I were supposed to meet up. Unfortunately, our schedules didn't match. We ended up with three. But theeeen, one suddenly backed out as he had an emergency at work. So I ended up on a date with the lone friend with me. It turned out great because we were able to talk about a lot of stuff. And I had lots of fun. Really.

We ate at Burger King for meryenda. I wasn't hungry so I just had their Strawberry something pie. I ordered it because I was curious and well.. it was strawberry :D He had a double whopper meal (yes, for meryenda. What an appetite!).

Afterwards, we strolled a bit. And ended up eating again. Hahaha. We bought one mocchi each. Mine was chocolate and his was caramel. Have you tried this? So awesome, you gotta try it! :)

I forgot to take pictures of the content because I wanted to eat it as soon as it melted a bit. It's quite hard so you have to wait 2-3 minutes before you could sink your teeth into it. It was definitely worth the wait!

We strolled around again, and I looked at some accessories and whatnots which were on sale. Without me asking, he got me this:

A steal at Php99!
What a fun day it was! It's so nice having friends who you can truly depend on, be there when you need them and say anything without being judged. :)

Review: Tea Tree Peel-Off Face Mask

at 1:47 PM 5 comments
I got this product as part of my mini haul post because I was intrigued by the brand, and it was relatively cheap too. I did a quick research on it and found nothing useful. So basically, based on what I saw in Watsons, this brand carries different skincare products like facial wash, moisturizer, exfoliating cream, and this peel-off mask.

NOTD: HD Oily Cracking Nail Polish in sort of Royal Blue

at 12:02 PM 0 comments
It took a long time before I decided to write this post (and NOTD posts) because:
  1. I'm not really good in applying nail polish.
  2. I've got no talent in nail art.
  3. I don't buy nail polish that often.
However, I really wanted my blog to cover a lot of things, all related to beauty, fashion, well-being, and smizing up (though this term coined by Tyra Banks refers to "smiling with your eyes", I take it as leveling up or glittering up or any action that makes a lady feel confident about herself).

So here it is lovelies: my first ever NOTD :)

Review: iWhite Korea Nose Pack

at 11:09 AM 5 comments
I think the most common skin problem of men and women alike are nasty blackheads and whiteheads. What causes these impurities? Basically, its due to excess oil secretion and dead skin cells. It's a good thing several products are available in the market to treat this problem. Let's check one out: iWhite Korea Nose Pack. (part of this haul)

Luscious Lippie: The FaceShop Fruit Jelly Tube in PP401

at 1:38 PM 3 comments
I am not a fan of lipgloss, that's the reason why this product is practically the only gloss in my stash. How'd I get hold of it then? Well, a college friend gave it to me as a gift years back. (Ehem, calling Elisha-star!)

Smize Me: Nichido Girls' Night Out Eye Pencil in 01 Blackest Black

at 2:37 PM 3 comments
A true makeupista (say what??) always has black/brown eyeliner in her kit (whether gel, pencil, or liquid). It is one of those essential makeup staples that should never go missing. (how redundant do I sound?)

Eyeliner defines drama. It adds character and depth. Depending on how one applies it, and how thick, a whole look could change.

Hello there lovelies!

San San Matte Finish Liquid Foundation is my first liquid foundation ever and I don't know what to expect. I bought it mainly because of curiousity, and it was inexpensive so here we are. Btw, its part of my mini hbc haul (read about it here)

Hello Ladies!

This 11/11/11, I went out to see two friends whom I won't be seeing for a while because I will start my review for the CPA boards next week! (that's six months of isolation T_T). I bought a few stuff too from Watsons and Etude House. Hopefully, I get to review all of them before everything gets way too busy.

The brand name is "Tea Tree", something new to me

A 5-brush set

iWhite Nose Pack

Etude House Volume Falsies

PureDerm Nose Pore Strips

I'm so excited to try out the falsies as this is my first time to do so. Stay tuned! :)

Have you tried out anything from this haul? How'd it go? :)

PS. I forgot to take an individual photo of the GreenTea Nose Pack from Etude house. ^_^

Be a Diva, Love Diva (My First-ever Styling/Blogging Workshop)

at 12:00 PM 9 comments
I can now officially call myself a blogger! Why? Because I have attended my first-ever blogger’s event! Yay me! Before writing about the event, let me first tell you how it all happened.(READ: EXTREMELY WORDY)

I, a newbie blogger, had nothing. No knowledge on blogging, web designing, photo editing, no contacts, no network... nothing. But due to my newfound love for make-up and beautyblogging (which was sparked by reading beautyblogs), I still pursued it. I even thought to myself, why only now? Why only now that I am on my last semester of college did I discover my passion and what drives me to do my best? I have been warned by a friend that growth in blogging (especially blogspot) is rather slow than if I blog in tumblr or vlog on youtube which are the ‘in’terfaces to go for. I wanted to write (I used to write stories and poetry), I wanted to share my thoughts... and I think blogspot was the only way for me to go. Even if I only have 17 followers as of this writing, (shoutouts to you Lovely People! :D), I am not discouraged. As with what I have read in other blogs, a beautyblogger gets to go to events and establish new relationships. For me, I already have established relationships with these 17 people as they get to read my thoughts and what I have to say. And with me attending my first blogging event, I can say that, indeed,  I AM A BLOGGER. I can say this thanks to Love Diva (check out their facebook page here)

grabbed from their facebook page, I hope they don't mind ^_^

Smizing Up Tool: ModelCo Lash Wand Heated Eye Lash Curler

at 2:28 PM 3 comments
As any part of our delicate body, our eyelashes definitely need tender loving care. It needs to washed, conditioned and completely make-up free (when we intend it to be, of course). However, being the beautiful people we are (ehem), who constantly enhance our beauty by curling and stressing our delicate lashes, must exert extra effort to take care of it. It mustn't be tugged nor pressed on too tight. This is especially tough if our eyelash curler doesn't fit the eye shape that we have.

It's a good thing heated eyelash curlers such as ModelCo Lash Wand Heated Eye Lash Curler exist! :D

Review: Etude House Black Charcoal Chin Pack

at 2:45 AM 6 comments
In the market, I always see nose packs to remove blackhead and whiteheads on the nose. Why is it always for the nose? Probably because this is where those impurities are usually found. So when I saw this Black Charcoal Chin Pack in Etude House, I felt really glad as I started to have whiteheads all over my chin (which, by the way, suddenly appeared, I don’t know why T_T). I tossed it right away in my basket to try it out (part of my haul, view it here).

So cute~

Wanna Be Diva-licious? Free Workshop

I am a newbie beauty blogger, hungry for experience. I find it difficult to live down South, because mainly, all huge events (blogging ones or not) are held in places in the North.

God knows how wide my smile was when I read that there would be a styling/blogging event held at Alabang Town Center! Read more about it here:

I hope Ms. Sarah Tirona of fashioneggplant chooses to mentor me so that I get to attend this event!

Quick Update and Whatnots

at 2:56 AM 2 comments
Hi Lovelies!

I'm so sorry for not writing for so long. I have lots of products lined up, either for reviews or for swatches. I'm having techie problems with the laptop, the camera, and removable storage. Adding up, my review for the CPA Boards is coming up reaaal soon... on the 21st. So I have to (I WANT TO) write as much as I can now to keep this blog (MY blog, MY baby) updated even if I'm reviewing already. But the situation doesn't permit me to do so. Or makes it harder, at least.

I'm so sorry for ranting guys, I just wanted you to know the reason for my absence. :(

I really feel sad that I'm stuck here, trying to fix this mess, instead of writing. Oh well, things like these are bound to happen anyway. I still get to read your blogs though, so I'll still be commenting around :)

Gotta get back to researching this shi~.

Hope to write again soon! Stay tuned :D

Random Post: Enlightening Sun Facts

at 1:38 AM 4 comments
I know it’s just nearing December and still too far away from summer, but with our climate changing and all, we still have to be aware of the damages the sun can do to our skin. When I bought a few stuff from Watsons, they threw in a small foldable flier from Vaseline amply entitled: Enlightening Sun facts. I must say it is really informative and should be known by all, men and women alike, so I decided to share it with you lovelies. Read on to know more :)

Special Halloween Post: Make Up Tutorial + FOTD + COTD

at 1:31 AM 0 comments
The few last days of October are really special to me because they hold a lot of memories. This year, another epic memory was in the making. Two of my best friends from high school (Yna and Steph) and I planned something different for Halloween: we were gonna go clubbing at a halloween-themed event.

However, there are some things that are beyond our control and we were made to cancel. It left us really disappointed and sad, but being the trouper that we were, we decided to play dress up and have our own mini photoshoot. Yna couldn't come but Steph and I pushed through.

So here we have, my dear readers, my Halloween Special which is a make up tutorial (tutorials, actually, one by yours truly and one by special guest Steph), FOTD, and COTD (Costume Of The Day, hyuk hyuk hyuk) all in one!

Any guess on what character we would play? :D Read on to find out, lovelies! :)

Review: Myra Vitasmooth Face Powder

at 12:08 AM 0 comments
I’m the powder-blush-lipbalm kind of girl (especially when it’s a lazy day) and it’s naturally important to find a face powder which is perfect for me and my everyday adventures.

I have been a Pond’s user for almost a year now, but I wanted to try something else. Something I wanted now was a compact with a mirror (Pond’s doesn’t have one), so when I went shopping (check out my previous haul here) I included it in my to-buy list.

I had no particular brand in mind so I checked out whatever I saw. My choices were narrowed down to two: Maybelline and Myra Vitasmooth.

I ended up buying Myra Vitasmooth!

Review: Etude House Blackhead Remover Dual Sheet

at 12:50 AM 7 comments

Koreans have superbly smooth, flawless and porcelain-white skin. It’s no wonder why Korean beauty stores are such a hit, and people flock to it.

Part of having smooth, flawless skin includes the non-existence of whiteheads and blackheads which are common problems of both male and female, old and young, rich and poor. It’s a good thing Etude House offers this product, Black Head Remover Dual Sheet, which is a two-stage blackhead removal and care system formulated with fruit and herbal extracts.

Surprisingly, a Major Haul.

at 12:42 AM 5 comments
Yes, dear readers, this is indeed another haul post. Keeping me inside the house just made me a shopping monster. I usually don't spend much and don't buy things at the same time but this.. this is something.

I won't disclose how much I spent, but I went way overboard my usual budget. I think the problem was that I didn't set a budget for this particular shopping spree. I just wanted to buy, buy, buy! (It also didn't help that I would console myself by saying that it would be okay because I can put it in my blog. I know... not a good thing!)

I promise this would be my last overbudget shopping spree. You guys are my witnesses! ^_^

Moving on... These are the items that I got:

Gaga over shopping!

Mini HBC Haul.

at 10:59 PM 2 comments
It’s been more than a week since my last day in college. Trapped inside our home, with no accounting to worry about, all I could think of was THIS... MY BLOG.

... and shopping, of course. Hahaha.

Last October 20, Dad, Mum, and I dined at Pancake House. Just around the corner (literally), there stood an HBC outlet. So while waiting for the food to come, I went there and bought, almost by instinct, these items:

(L-R: San San Nail Polish in Luxury Black and Colorless, San San Matte Finish Liquid Foundation,
Bobbie Nail Polish in Emerald Glaze, San San Nail Polish in French White
Below: Lip brushes)

This mini-haul wasn’t planned at all, and I didn’t bring anything, not a dime, not even my phone fercherrisakes, and I am so glad that Dad financed this mini-haul. Teehee. Thanks Dad!

By the way, I used the white and clear nail polish for my first-ever cracking polish (successful) attempt which I won’t post, just because it isn’t post-worthy and you guys might condemn me. Haha. The black one I plan to also use as base for cracking polish, and the emerald one, well, I just think it's pretty.

The San San Liquid Foundation is my first liquid foundation and I plan to write a review on it so watch out for that :)

What items do you buy from HBC? Tell me lovelies! :)

Luscious Lippie: Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Off Beat Pink

at 11:27 PM 2 comments
I usually just apply lip balm on my lips during regular days. But when I want to add a little color, or when I don’t put on eye makeup, I use this baby: Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Off Beat Pink. (I used this in my first-ever tutorial. Check it out here)

Make Up Tutorial: Blue Baby

at 3:08 AM 10 comments
When I was conceptualizing this blog, I really didn’t know what I could offer. I mean... I just started getting into makeup, I was not exceptionally good at it, and I didn’t have anything but the basics.

Lots of ideas would pop in my head but when I do try it, it wouldn’t look as I had pictured it. One fortunate day, I saw my mom use her newly bought turquoise eyeliner under a black liquid one. So basically, that’s where I got inspiration for this look. I tried it, perked it up a little and ended up with this bright luminous look. It's really easy!

..DARY!! :D

Right after class, my family picked me up from school and we went straight to Festival Mall Alabang. And yes lovelies you know what that means.. shopping!

These are some of the items that I purchased (some planned and some bought on impulse). The mall is currently on a three-weekend sale, today being the first week (see: http://everythinginbudget.blogspot.com/), meaning, we have two more weekends to shop, shop, and shop!

I'll be doing a review on these (makeup) items soon. Watch out for it, okay? Please? Haha. :)

...and oh. Sorry for the crappy photo lovelies ^_^

Here we go..

at 12:56 AM 4 comments
Finally… my first post.

I have long wanted to start this blog and ached to do so ever since I stumbled upon different blogs (I totally forgot how I even landed on one) but many things hindered it: a hectic schedule at school, numerous accounting problems to be solved, final exams fast-approaching. However, I decided that it won’t stop me. It shouldn’t stop me. So here I am! :)

I see myself as a latebloomer. From realizing that the world does not revolve around me, to learning (and loving!) the art of dressing up, skincare and make up, I am, as one could say, behind schedule. I only started using baby powder (at my initiative) during my third year of highschool. As if history repeated itself, I started using pressed powder (yeah, the ones that come in a compact) when I was a junior in college.

I may be a late bloomer, but it seems that my learning rate when it comes to make up, and everything that comes with it, is superbly bionic. Ding ding ding! Either I'm a cyborg or my fascination with it is just way too high. (teehee)

Pardon me for the overly-wordy introduction. I hope to see your comments and suggestions. Please be kind people. :) Ciao!
